4X Grammy Nominated Producer / DJ / Mix Engineer
Born into a creative household with a musician father and an abstract-painter mother, Eric Welton—professionally known as Emmaculate—was destined for the arts. Raised in Elgin, just outside Chicago, he discovered House Music in the late ’80s and instantly connected with the city’s emerging sound.
By 1990, Eric was deep into collecting vinyl, teaching himself to DJ, and learning the craft of production. The nickname “Emmaculate” was given to him early on—a play on his meticulous, detail-driven approach to music. As his skills expanded across House, Hip-Hop, and R&B, he quickly became one of Chicago’s go-to producers and mix engineers. Years spent working closely with some of Chicago’s most influential House Music legends shaped his artistry and gave him invaluable mentorship.
In 2017, Emmaculate stepped into the spotlight as a recording artist, releasing original music and remixes across respected labels including Ultra, Helix, Big Love, Soulfuric, Fool’s Gold, Yoruba, Nervous, Reel People, Dopewax, Z Records, Mirror Ball, Peppermint Jam, Djoon, and more. His tracks have topped the Traxsource charts repeatedly, with his remix of Robin S’s “Show Me Love” becoming the #1 overall selling track of 2022, and his remix of Mary J. Blige’s “Good Morning Gorgeous” reaching the #3 Afro House record of the year.
A four-time Grammy nominee, Emmaculate has received recognition for his work on:
Ten City’s album Judgement (2021) – Producer
Beyoncé – “Break My Soul (Terry Hunter Remix)” (2022) – Mix Engineer
Mariah Carey – “Workin’ Hard (Terry Hunter Remix)” (2023) – Mix Engineer
Yolanda Adams – “Church Doors (Terry Hunter Remix)” (2025) – Mix Engineer
His momentum carried into 2023–2025 with standout remixes for DRAMA, Incognito, Roy Ayers, Barbara Tucker, Shawn Christopher, and more. He also produced Ten City’s 2025 album on Nervous Records, which earned widespread critical acclaim upon release.
In 2023, Emmaculate expanded into film, serving as an Executive Producer on the documentary In Our DNA: Hip House, produced in partnership with Kevin Liles’ 300 Studios. The project also featured Executive Producers Kelly G., Nolan Baynes, Terry Hunter, D-Nice, and DJ Spen, marking Emmaculate’s powerful debut in the world of film and storytelling.
As a DJ, Emmaculate has shared his sound across the United States and throughout Europe—performing in London, Paris, Scotland, Amsterdam, and more. His sets have been featured at SunceBeat (Croatia), Southport Weekender (UK), Chosen Few Picnic & Festival (Chicago), Mi Casa Holiday (Mexico), and Charivari (Detroit), among other global events.
With an unmistakable style rooted in Chicago soul, global rhythms, and elite-level production, Emmaculate continues to push House Music forward—on the dancefloor, in the studio, and worldwide.
